Project #1 Title: Transforming the Lives of Young People to Build Sustainable Communities

Cost: NLe 116,699 (5,096 USD)

Project Goal: Sustainable Communities Network (SCN) will use sports to transform the lives of young people, build sustainable communities through increased youth participation and community engagement, and in collaboration with Line Ministries, design community driven projects to achieve our collective objectives

Project Outcomes:
1. Establish community-based capacity building programmes that seek to improve the socio-economic status of young people
2. Provide Community-driven sport facilities and Development projects which equip young people to build resilience and reduce anti-social behaviours
3. Appropriate training/sport facilities provided in communities for young people for them to optimize their sporting talents to improve their socio-economic status

Sustainability Plan: For sustainability, the project will build upon and mold the leadership skills of youths in target communities, who will then influence other youths to avoid or quit gangs and embrace peaceful coexistence for the individual and collective development of their communities. This is done through the Ministry of Youth Affairs Community Youth Structures through whom program componentsof assessment and intake, intensive training, personal development, case management, and follow-up take place.

Exit Strategy: At the completion of this implementation, youths will be selected to collaborate with the Ministry of Youth Affairs as youth ambassadors, who will promote leadership and employment programs designed to develop skills and activities that positive influence on other youths in their communities
