Dr Columba Blango is the Teacher of Philosophy, Religion, and Ethics at Thorpe House School in the UK and has a distinguished background in politics. He has served as a Councillor and Mayor of the London Borough of Southwark. In addition, he has been a cabinet member for Southwark with responsibilities for Communities, Equalities, Youth, Sports, the Voluntary Sector, and International Partnership. Dr Blango also ran as a parliamentary candidate twice in the UK Parliamentary Elections. Prior to his distinguished career in politics and education, he excelled as a competitive athlete, both locally and internationally, reaching the pinnacle of his athletic career when he impressively represented Sierra Leone as a decathlete in the 1980 Olympic Games. These experiences have equipped Dr. Blango with a diverse background that he now utilizes at SCN to inspire others toward positively impacting society.
